How to Correct Breast Asymmetry

"They're Sisters, not Twins" is a common phrase in breast surgery. However some women would be THRILLED with creating sisters from distant cousins. For women with breast and skeletal anomalies, Dr. Albright creates an individualized surgery plan to enhance breast symmetry, fullness, shape, volume and projection. It can be done!

How does Breast Asymmetry Occur?

Breast asymmetry can be caused by many different factors

  • Genetics - uneven development during adolescence or sudden growth of one breast as a teenager
  • Pregnancy and breast feeding will cause breasts tissue to expand and contract.
  • Aging - breasts sage or shrink unevenly
  • Medical condition - biopsies or breast cancer
  • Mastitis – breast infection, generally caused by breastfeeding
  • Significant weight gain or loss

Correcting Breast Asymmetry

Typically patients desire the following asymmetries corrected:

  1. Equal fullness at the top of their breasts (upper pole fulness)
  2. Equal fullness / projection of breasts
  3. Equal size of breasts
  4. Equal position of each breasts
  5. Equal size of areolas / nipples

Typically breast asymmetry can be corrected through breast augmentation, breast implants, breast lift, breast reduction or a combination of procedures.

Dr. Albright customizes every procedure to meet the unique goals of each patient. Below are some examples of what is possible!
